Ankara Airport Business Lounge: Domestic Terminal

Ankara Airport Domestic Lounge

As you remember, we flew to celebrate the New Year 2021 from Kyiv to Antalya with a transfer in Ankara, which means we had to go and see how our favorite lounge is doing now in the domestic terminal (the terminal for local flights, i.e. flights within Turkey) of the airport Ankara, Turkey.

We’ve have visited this lounge with a pleasure several times, flying to the Aegean coast of Turkey to Dalaman and Bodrum, so we knew the way and found it right away 🙂

Although it was early morning, the lounge was opened, but did not please us at all, but even upset us.

Previously, it was a pleasant place where you could not just have a snack, but have a full meal and even drink to your meal as a hungry traveler (there were soups, main dishes, delicious Turkish pastries, fruits, strong alcohol of various types, wine and beer, etc.).

It was such a celebration of meeting the hospitable Turkish land 🙂

At the end of December 2020, the familiar lounge looked different: they removed one distribution area and put more chairs and tables. Yes, there is more space, because it used to be a problem.

But at the same time, there is almost no choice of food: something dry and wrapped in film (tasteless and uninteresting pastries, sandwiches, olives, tomatoes, jams), drinks and a little fruit. There is still tea and coffee. Wine is offered too.

The toilets are still spacious, clean and smell good.

You can get to this lounge either with premium cards (we had a Mastercard Platinum card from Monobank) or for a surcharge. And if earlier we paid for visiting this lounge with pleasure, now we would not pay for such a choice.

By tradition, we drank our beloved ayran, sat for a while, sad for the former times, and flew on to Antalya.
