The grand final of our trip to Germany (Hamburg – Berlin – Bad Saarow) was a short visit to Prague, Czech Republic.
It’s difficult to say why I came up with the idea of going to Prague from Berlin, and flying home from there 🙂 Apparently, there is a kind of adventurous nature in me that sometimes does not allow me to choose simple paths, but requires such twists 🙂
But seriously, at the time of 2015 there was no low-cost airline from Kyiv to Berlin and I understood that I needed to somehow save our budget by taking a cheaper return flight, but at the same time to get more impressions from the trip.
And so the route home was planned: Bad Saarow – Berlin – Prague – Kyiv.
We’ve got to Berlin by train on a the same route, and from Berlin we were travelling by a high-speed train to Prague. Travel time is 4.5 hours. We were alone in our compartment, so we had all comfort, enjoying the scenery outside.
So if you, like us, do not drive, but want to see more cities, be sure to use such options that are affordable on the budget.
In Prague, I’ve chosen the UNIC hotel for my stay. Now the hotel is part of the Melia hotel chain and has got the name INNSIDE by Melia Prague Old Town. My priority in its choice was its location, close to the train station (we’ve quickly walked to the hotel on foot).
Advantages of the hotel:
– all new, pretty
– a small cozy room and complete silence in the room
– great bathroom with cool washbasin
– good breakfast
– near the old town
– transfer to the airport for 30 eur
Cons of the hotel:
– uncomfortable breakfast room (large and cool)
– lack of our beloved sauna
In general, I recommend the hotel: at a low cost, we’ve got a good quality.
Oh, how to write about our emotions from Prague so that you don’t beat me, I don’t know 🙂 Well, we didn’t like Prague and this city didn’t impress us for some reason. There were noisy, crowded, we don’t like this type of architecture.
We’ve walked a lot, as we usually love. We ate in local cafes (I tried to choose something more local). We did not like the foodas well. Yes, the beer was not bad, but no more (we are not beer lovers). Perhaps we should return at a different time of the year, but so far we are not plan it at all, because there are many new places we want to visit and hope to do it soon! 🙂
