Hilton Gdansk hotel overview

Our second hotel in Gdansk was Hilton Gdansk.

As usual, I thought that 5 nights in one hotel is boring and we need to take another hotel to get new impressions 🙂

Hilton Gdansk is well located: right by the river at the end of the promenade, it occupies a separate new building at the beginning of all the paths leading to the Old Town.

At the entrance, we were greeted by a sad live Christmas tree, the hotel lobby seemed not so festive, perhaps because we’ve arrived already on January 3 and all the beauty was removed.

We were at the hotel at 11 am and were pleasantly surprised that we were immediately settled, although the check-in time is standard at 14.00.

At the reception we had to stay a bit, because the employee did not see the breakfast we’ve paid to have at the hotel. But after his talks with someone, everything was resolved positively, and we gladly hurried to get to know the hotel and the room.

The hotel has 5 floors, on the 5th floor there is a bar with beautiful views, as well as a glass-roofed swimming pool with access to the summer terrace.

We’ve got a room again on the 3rd floor overlooking a small quiet side street. I think these rooms are the quietest, because the other 2 sides of the hotel with rooms overlook either the promenade (excellent views will be a plus here) or the main street, where there is a lot of transport.

The room is fresh, in good condition, the standard size with armchairs and table, sleeping and working areas, the room is very warm, the window is one and not very big, but it opens normally.

Bed with a huge blanket and proper soft mattress 🙂

TV with multiple channels, but without a USB connector.

Full equipment of the room (kettle, cups, tea bags, etc., is also available) and information that guests can additionally order any necessary (shaving kits, toothbrushes, toothpastes, etc.). Bathrobes and slippers, iron and ironing board is in the room too.

The bathroom is small but includes both a bath and a shower.

The room is quiet due to its good location, the neighbors are also not heard.

Breakfast at the hotel is on the 1st floor, on the same level with the reception.
I didn’t like the breakfast room at all: it’s very uncomfortable, it looks like a canteen 🙂

But the choice of dishes in the buffet and service at a very high level.
There is everything and even more, namely, excellent homemade aspic, delicious cakes, and, of course, our favorite prosecco.
Coffee and tea can be made by yourself, there is freshly squeezed orange juice.

You can order egg dishes, pancakes or crepes, waffles (properly cooked, which is now rarely found in hotels).

Another very good place in the hotel is an indoor heated pool and a relaxation area with sun beds around it.

The pool is a good size, it allows you to swim well, the water is of good temperature, it’s not cold there.

There is also a very small sauna (a huge minus for us), in which it is impossible to be normally even for 2 people (besides, it was badly heated once, which was corrected after addressing a lifeguard), as well as the same small size a steam room with good steam, but a cool stone bench.

We were surprised by towels – white color 🙂

We’ve used to have around the pool and in the sauna colored towels, and not those that are provided to guests in the rooms.

As a result, we’ve really liked the hotel, it’s such a standard hotel of a big chain, with nothing special, but a very good level.

I definitely recommend for those who: love good new hotels of a big worldwide chains with an excellent breakfast and are looking for a hotel with a pool in Gdansk!
