I talked about the superior sea view room and the hotel territory in the first part of the review, and now it’s time to show you the hotel and tell you about the food here.
The first place we went to after checking in was the SPA. In this hotel, it is 2-storey, all gold and marble.
There are many beautiful clocks everywhere that fit well into the interior, but with only one problem – none of them worked 🙂 Apparently, the SPA staff think that you need to completely relax here 🙂 And by the way, about the employees – here they were the most annoying, that constantly tried to impose paid services several times per visit, even after our polite refusal.
What is in the SPA: Finnish sauna, bio sauna, steam room (did not work in May 2021), hammam, small indoor pool, relaxation area, gym. We liked the saunas and the hammam, albeit small, but well warmed up, and the stones are not very hot.
It was difficult to relax by the indoor pool: there were children constantly going crazy, jumping into the pool, but none of the employees cared about it.
Also if you, like us, like to swim in the sea between sessions in the sauna, then this SPA will not be good: you need to go far enough to the sea, because the SPA building is located high and to the side.
Then we decided to have a bite to eat and went to look at the main pool with a snack-restaurant near. The main pool cannot be called small, but surprisingly uncomfortable, we found this place in the hotel to be the saddest and not so relaxing: a small area around, and the pool itself is poorly located and the views around are not particularly interesting. Below there is another small pool with sea water, but we learned about this completely by accident.
There is a bar by the pool with a good selection of drinks. It even seemed to me that there was more choice there than in the main building.
I will digress a little on a very important point – there is no hotel map anywhere, and you absolutely do not understand what and where it is. Asking the assistant for a help is also fun, because he writes: go to the left at the restaurant, but you do not know where it is 🙂 I highly recommend the hotel to make an up-to-date hotel map, at least in electronic form, as, for example, did the LUJO HOTEL BODRUM.
The poolside snack restaurant is a small, dark, ugly place with awful hard and uncomfortable chairs. The food matches the place – tasteless and the choice is not interesting at all.
On the first evening, our assistant signed us up to a fish à la carte restaurant, which is free to visit. It is located on the platform above the main restaurant. Here, too, is somehow uncomfortable, there is no holiday mood, and the views are not enough postcard :).
The service was excellent, drinks and meals were served on time. And then a very strange approach awaited us: the waiter served the menu and immediately said not to choose anything except the main dish, we will bring the rest to you. And they brought us a bunch of snacks and different salads, though you might not want to eat at all. It seems to me that this is a waste of food and the time of cooks to prepare all of that. You need to do, as is usually done in a la carte restaurants, let the guest choose what he wants from the menu. There is nothing to say about the appetizers (these are ordinary Turkish appetizers), and only a hot plate of seafood deserves a warm word, but the main dishes were not very tasty: the fish was absolutely overcooked (I had dorado, my husband had salmon).
And I’ll finish right away about a la carte. On the last evening, an assistant signed us up to a Turkish à la carte restaurant. Its visit is also free for hotel guests and it is deservedly popular, I recommend visiting. I can tell right away that it was the only place in the hotel that tasted good. All the same oddity with the impossibility of choosing all the food from the menu was here too. The main courses (we took kebab and lamb skewers) were lovely. The service was even better, the atmosphere was more pleasant, but again the tables were very close.
In the main building, next to the main restaurant, there is a small pastry shop with a very modest selection of pastries and cakes. The service was good, but I didn’t really like the desserts themselves, they do not reach the level of delicious desserts in good pastry shops of Turkish hotels. The pastry chef needs to learn more 🙂
In the morning we went to the main restaurant for breakfast. Breakfast is my favorite time at the hotel and I was eager to see what makes us happy here.
The main restaurant is located in the main building and at first we did not immediately understand how to get there, and even got lost. That’s why the hotel map is needed!
Nevertheless, we found our way, and fell into the strong hands of the hotel staff, who took our plates and, holding them in their hands, began to put food there, which we showed from a distance behind the fence. At the same time, all the food warmers are open, the food cools down quickly, and you come to your table with lukewarm food. I understand everything, times of the pandemic are difficult, but other hotels coped with this much more successfully, installing glass rails near the food, and no one did hold my plate in their hands (and then your plate in the same gloves).
The choice of food for breakfast was sufficient and large, but the porridge was found only on the second day, and my favorite kaymak could only be obtained by asking the employee to put it as much as I needed, and not as he decided And most importantly, the restaurant is surprisingly strangely designed: the distribution line territory is free and nice, but the halls inside the restaurant are small and not very comfortable, the tables are close.
The open area of main restaurant is generally very strange: the dark part under the balconies of the rooms of the main building is not at all pleasing, and the open area is all in the sun with a small number of gazebos where crowds of coming cats.
The service is fast, no questions asked.
There is not much to say about lunch and dinner. Yes, there is a choice of food, a lot of snacks, good fruits, decent desserts and pastry, ordinary ice cream, but with the main dishes everything is not so good: they are all tasteless; they cannot cook either meat or fish. The grill employee is generally kind of scared and cooks the grill for a long time, not always understanding what and when he was ordered, you have to repeat the order and stand over his soul.
In general, the main restaurant did not please, but did not upset either, and I would say more puzzled Its place is strange, located near the rooms, without views pleasing to the hearts of guests. You can see the sea and all the beauty around you only while standing, and while sitting you will see little.
Okay, we didn’t get much buzz from breakfast, well, nothing, so it’s time to go to the beach and try something refreshing, besides, the hotel’s drink card is tempting 🙂
