For the most loyal hotel lovers, finally, the third and final part of the review of our stay at the Kaya Palazzo Golf Resort in Belek, Turkey. The first part is about the rooms here, and the second part is about the hotel infrastructure here.
The concept of all inclusive in January 2021 looked like this: it included breakfast-lunch-dinner (buffet) in the main restaurant, spirits and low-alcohol drinks / cocktails in the hotel bars (there were several bars), a pastry shop (the best place in the hotel). A la carte restaurants for an extra charge.
The main restaurant is huge, with several rooms, but somehow uncomfortable and very noisy (the hotel was almost full and there were many guests).
There are no tablecloths on the tables and in general the impression of the restaurant is like a huge canteen, although it was decorated very diligently for the new year 🙂
There is no separate area for adults, but it would be worthwhile to make it, as we wanted to spend time in a quieter and more relaxed environment, and not have a quick meal and run away faster 🙂
There is a lot of food, a wide choice, but very few delicious dishes, well cooked.
And if the breakfasts are at a good level with a choice of everything, and of course good pastries and kaimak (my love, but also the enemy of the waist 🙂 ),
then lunches and dinners abound in the number of dishes (meat, fish, salads, etc.), but not their quality.
From what you can recall, these are ice cream and great desserts. The soups that I adore, I didn’t like here. Overdried meat and fish, for lovers of very well done concept. The service in the main restaurant is good: many waiters, quickly bring drinks, clean tables.
Our favorite place in the hotel is the pastry shop. This is the most cozy and pleasant room in the hotel, where there are many cool sofas, nice design and an excellent view of the hotel territory.
Well, and most importantly, these are excellent quality pastries and cakes. I love sweets and really appreciate the good pastry in hotels. Here it is 12+ for sure! I definitely recommend!
We visited all the open bars of the hotel, where the drink card can be found by scanning the QR code. And most of all we liked the main bar on the ground floor with access to the street: they prepare great cocktails and serve very well and quickly! Each drink is served with chips and nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews).
In other bars it was not so tasty and not so cozy, it seemed that they did not know how to mix cocktails at all.
Imported drinks are available: main types of vodka, mixed whiskeys, liqueurs, martini, sparkling wine, wine.
Well, what we liked, and we really appreciated, is compliance with the rules related to the pandemic. All staff and all hotel guests in the main restaurant were wearing masks when choosing food. All food is fenced in by glass, food is served by employees, but everything is clearly visible and convenient. In the rest of the hotel, most of the guests also wore masks, incl. in the elevators. The cleanliness around us also pleased us, and in the end we felt safe.
And, finally, the conclusions.
We liked the hotel, but it didn’t become our favorite. It turned out to be too big, noisy and not very tasty for us.
I recommend the hotel to those who love big hotels with a small compact territory, are not afraid of crowds of people, appreciate good infrastructure and service, a large selection of food and drinks, especially in the off-season.
I think it will be very crowded in the hotel during the season. The infrastructure is absolutely not designed for the number of guests who rest there.
And even for those who like to relax in the rooms of high category, this hotel will not be very comfortable. The villas are awful and cramped, the rooms in the main building with access to the pool are not particularly impressive (the pools and areas around them look unkempt).
And the new rooms of the lagoon suites category, although they look nice, are located very poorly – near the access road to the reception, and therefore their guests may not be lucky to be accommodated there. At the same time, the construction of the next stage of such rooms is still in full swing, so it is not yet clear what this part of the hotel will look like when the construction is completed.
Thanks to everyone who read my reviews of this hotel 🙂 I hope it will be useful for you when choosing a hotel in Belek.
