I took my first step into the world of foreign resorts with my husband, having gone on our first trip abroad to Montenegro back in 2005 🙂
It was a fun trip in the format of train + bus with our first stay in a villa in Budva.
The road was very difficult, but without any special adventures with two well-remembered episodes: a visit to the Tesco supermarket in Hungary (our first shopping experience of this size) and the morning stop in the mountains of Montenegro (the first feeling of unreality and tales around us).
We’ve come to Montenegro and stayed in not so big private house which was called Villa 🙂
We’ve got a small room with a bed, a balcony, a bathroom with a toilet and a view of the courtyard. I can’t even find the photos, but believe me, it was a tiny room in a building far from the sea.
Food was not included and we took care of it ourselves.
Breakfast was arranged in the room, for lunch we found a set menu in a cafe nearby, for dinner we went to restaurants and bars of Budva.
Our main friends in this vacation were the market and the supermarket 🙂
In Budva we’ve tried the two most delicious things in our life: local pizza, which when served on the table with a crazy tomato sauce; and the most tender profiteroles with custard, which were served floating in chocolate custard.
It was in the old town of Budva cafe and impressed us for many years to come. Nowhere else have we eaten such delicious profiteroles and pizza with such a sauce.
The way to the sea took us 30 minutes, we went to the paid beach outside the old town.
The sea was wonderful and we spent all day there. We love this beautiful sea very much and we really liked this sea. Previously I’ve seen only the Black and Azow Sea in the Crimea and Odessa region.
To see some Montenegro itself, we went on a big tour of Montenegro, which lasted all day from early morning to late evening.
We’ve visited the canyon of the Tara and Moracha rivers, visited the mountain lakes and the Zabljak nature reserve, a monastery in the mountains and a lot of other beauty.
We went around Budva on foot, walked in the village of Becici, visited the island of St. Stephen when it was opened to all tourists (before there was opened the hotel).
In general, we were very pleased with our first experience of abroad holidays, and we’ve decided to continue our acquaintance with rest in other countries.
* I apologize to all that the photos in the post are of very low quality, because shot was made with a cheap camera.
