And at the end of my long story about our vacation in 4 hotels in Sharm el Sheikh in 2021 (you can read about each of them here, here and here), I’ll tell you about our fifth return to our beloved hotel. And I will tell you that at the moment, this is the only hotel out of the 96 hotels we visited, where we return so many times 🙂
Seeing that the hotel reopened our beloved Club, I immediately booked a club room with a catering concept – breakfast only. I made this choice deliberately, because we did not like our last year’s stay in this hotel with the all inclusive concept (we didn’t like the food in the main restaurant at all).
The concept of Club rooms includes:
– accommodation in rooms / suites near the Club Lounge
– separate pools and beach for Club room guests only
– meals in the Club Lounge (breakfast and lunch-dinner)
– service with drinks in the lounge, around pools and on the beach throughout the day
But this time we had an incredible surprise from the hotel and our great friend Mr. Mohammed – an upgrade to the parlor suite. This is the room I really wanted to get to for a long time, it seemed to me that we would like it very much, and as it turned out, I was not mistaken 🙂 We thank the hotel management for such a surprise and attention to hotel’s repeat guests! We were very pleased 🙂
We arrived at the hotel in a noisy time, when the hotel was fully loaded, and even a big wedding, but we were immediately settled.
The parlor suite turned out to be located in one of the buildings by the Club Lounge with a beautiful view of the territory and the sea.
We got the room on the top floor, it turned out to be very spacious with a huge balcony.
The room has a large bathroom with a bath and shower.
There is also a small corridor with wardrobes, a sleeping and living area with a huge table and sofa.
The room has 2 air conditioners, which are convenient to use, because they don’t blow on the bed and there is also a ceiling fan. But air conditioners are very noisy, so it’s inconvenient to use them all the time.
The room is excellent, very comfortable and with great views, but 2 problems were discovered: the coffee maker did not work (which was replaced, but it did not help), and the hairdryer was completely inoperative (it was replaced with a new one that worked perfectly).
The Club Lounge is a great place where we had always enjoy spending a lot of time. Now, due to the hotel’s decision to sell Club rooms not only for breakfast, as before, but also for all inclusive, it became very noisy and not very tasty.
The breakfasts at the Club Lounge are still great, with a small selection at the buffet and a choice of food to order (omelets, scrambled eggs, pancakes, etc.).
Somewhere from 15.00. the Club Lounge begins serving lunch, which fades into dinner. Previously, these were only dinners after 17.00. and it was very good. Now, because of this decision, the quality of food has dropped dramatically. There is a small amount of appetizers, snacks, vegetables, cheese, fruits, excellent desserts, but we did not have anything tasty from the hot one (french fries, over dried chicken, good spring rolls with vegetables).
But most importantly, the level of service has dropped dramatically too. The waiter tells all the guests how tired he is, because serves the guests all alone. But he also serves a very long time: you can wait a long time for appliances, drinks generally more than 30 minutes. We were very upset that now there is no Mr. George in the Club Lounge, who alone knew how to maintain a unique atmosphere here. When we informed the hotel management, the next morning Mr. George greeted us and all the regular guests of the Club Lounge were happy to see him. After that, the level of service has improved.
I recommend that the hotel reconsider its approach to the Club Lounge and return the practice for its guests to eat according to the concept of breakfast + evening dinner with drinks in the lounge, as it was before. This will bring back the same level of food and service quality, and attract the regular guests of the hotel who love the Club Lounge as we do.
The club pools are great fun and the service is excellent.
The club beach is a very pleasant place: it is very cozy, not crowded and pleasant. However, the service was not very good. In the morning we had to wait long enough for beach towels. And the beach workers do not monitor the constant arrival of guests from the main hotel, which is cramped and noisy there, so they come to swim from the club pier.
I think it’s time to carry out a major renovation or even replace the umbrellas and sun loungers, they are already in a completely bad condition.
The toilets were renovated, they were clean and good.
The sea and the bay near the Club beach are simply wonderful, we consider them one of the best in Sharm el Sheikh: it is very beautiful here, the coral gardens are beautiful, and you can meet many interesting fishes and other marine life habitats.
The relaxation area in the hotel’s SPA is no longer free to visit, as before, and this is very frustrating. Because the fee of $ 30 for using the sauna / steam room / jacuzzi is considered unreasonable.
The main restaurant is still very noisy, and we were glad that we did not use it this time 🙂 The hotel territory is still beautiful, you can walk here endlessly.
And yes, we will come back again, and hope that we will see the very Club that we love so much.
