I have told almost everything about how we organized our vacation in 1 week and about our road to Egypt (I will tell you about the flight to Egypt a little later), which means it’s time to move on to my favorite part – hotel reviews.
In this strange year, I tried to find hotels in Sharm El Sheikh, where there will be separate VIP zones or a small number of guests.
And the first I decided to repeat the Sunrise Arabian Beach Resort, where we already stayed in 2015, but this time I booked us an executive sea view room, which belongs to a separate area of the hotel – Royal Club.
Royal Club is such a small hotel within a hotel with the following advantages:
– a separate pool with a relaxation area
– separate small lounge serving breakfast and drinks throughout the day
– once during your vacation, you can use the pavilion on the beach for free, and then use it with a 50% discount daily
– free transfer from and to the airport
– priority reservations for a la carte restaurants in the hotel for dinner.
Early in the morning at the airport we were met by the hotel driver who took us to the hotel in 15 minutes, where we were immediately checked-in, even though it was only 7 am. During check-in, we saw almost no measures about the virus in the hotel, and the staff were all without masks.
We got a room on the 2nd floor of the Aster block of rooms with an excellent view of the territory and the sea.
The room is spacious 60 m2, consists of a sleeping and living area, each of which has a TV.
The bathroom has a shower and a bath, the sink is not very convenient, although it looks cool in the photo.
The room has enough wardrobes, iron and board, safe and mini-bar with drinks.
The room has a balcony, but due to the heat we did not use it.
The double bed has a good size, moderately hard mattress, but the pillows are not very comfortable, and the linens are all in rolls, which surprised us a lot. It’s clearly time to replace it.
In general, the room is cozy, but there is already a feeling that renovation will be needed soon.
I always appreciate the rooms in Egypt, which remain cool after turning off the air conditioner, and everything was great here: very pleasant and not hot.
After checking into the room, we went to the lounge for breakfast.
We immediately realized that we made the right choice for Royal Club, because there were very few people, the tables were outside and everything was calm and remote.
All breakfast dishes are ordered from the menu. It is small, but there is enough food.
Eggs are served in different forms (boiled, fried eggs, omelette, like Benedict), cheese, smoked salmon, pastries, muesli, falafel, waffle, pancakes. There is also tea and coffee (good quality), 4 types of freshly squeezed juice (orange, guava, mango and strawberry), and sparkling wine (white and pink, quite good).
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and every morning the quality of cooking was the same. The omelet was dry and tasteless, the pancakes were thick and undercooked, the waffles were dry and burnt.
The service is good, the setting and the views of the pool and recreation area are pleasant.
The pool is shallow and small, there are almost no people in it, but we could not swim there: because of the heat in the pool, the water was hot, and in the morning we saw how the hotel staff poured a large amount of chlorine into it, so it was clear that we shouldn’t swim there.
The first day we settled down on sun loungers by this pool, where it was not very convenient to lie down because of the strange pillows, but soon I realized that I was just burning out, because sun protection was minimal, and there were holes in the canopy roof. As a result, we were no longer located here, and I do not recommend anyone to be there in the heat, because you burn out instantly, so you can get sunstroke.
I recommend the hotel to come up with something to make this place not only beautiful, but also safe to be in the shadow of those guests who really care about it.
This pool is a place of pilgrimage for a huge number of guests of the main hotel who come there to take photos. An employee chases them, but allows them to take a photo.
In general, we were satisfied with this part of the Royal Club hotel, especially the fact that there were almost no people there, it was quiet and peaceful.
Next, I’ll tell you about the main hotel, food, beach and more. To be continued 🙂
