The fourth hotel on our vacation near the sea in September 2020 was the fairytale Four Seasons Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
For several years now I have been walking in circles around this hotel, and after reading a book written by the founder of the Four Seasons hotel chain, I finally decided to go there. And I’ll say right away, I didn’t regret it.
This is the most expensive and the highest category hotel in Sharm el Sheikh, but somehow not particularly photogenic. How many photos and videos I have watched, I was not particularly attracted by them. But the reality turned out to be completely different. Arriving at the hotel, right away, at the entrance, we realized that we were in a real oriental tale. I tried very hard to make photo of the hotel in order to show it to you, but really this is the case when you just should come once, and not look a lot of photos.
We were greeted at the reception, immediately checked in and were introduced to the guest experience agent Elena, who told us details about the hotel and its concept.
The hotel operates on the concept of breakfast (BB), half board (HB) and full board + (FB +). We chose full board because there was a very good offer for it.
We were taken to the hotel room by golf car by the cute streets, which reminded me of some Mediterranean town, somewhere in Greece.
All hotel rooms are located in 2-storey buildings. We booked a superior room which is located on the ground floor.
Each room in this category has a small, very cozy terrace with a sofa, table and armchairs.
Superior room is very spacious – 60 m. The first impression is that it is dark. The only window in the room is the front door. But such a room has its own charm: there is a feeling that you are in a very cozy, cool room, like in a cave. What is especially valuable during the terrible heat we got into this time in Egypt. Because there is no sun, the room is very cool and the heat is tolerated perfectly, even with the air conditioner turned off.
The room is beautifully decorated with many interesting details. The room has:
– a small seating area with a table and chairs
– sleeping area with a crazy comfortable huge bed with an incredible mattress and wonderful bedding. The pillows for the first time in a hotel in Egypt were of excellent quality and very comfortable.
– a corridor with wardrobes, refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle and tea set
– a separate dressing room with many hangers and shelves
– nice bathroom with 2 washbasins, shower, bath and toilet. There are L’occitane brand cosmetics and wonderful bath towels. You can also take beach towels with you to the beach, which in the amount of 4 pieces are on a special rack.
The equipment of the room is excellent: there is everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only negative is the air conditioner, which is located directly opposite the bed.
We were so thrilled by studying the room that we didn’t even sort things out 🙂
And then the phone rang. Elena called us and offered to move to a higher category room for free so that we could admire the sea view. We did not think long and immediately agreed. A golf car came for us again and took us to another room.
So we found ourselves in a premier sea view room.
There are 3 room categories in the hotel:
– superior (located on the 1st floor without a view)
– deluxe partial sea view (located on the 1st floor, but have a partial sea view)
– premium sea view room (rooms on the 2nd floor with a balcony and sea views)
The rest of the rooms are presented in the categories of suites and villas.
Premium sea view room has the same size as the superior room, 60 m, but with a different layout.
Here you immediately find yourself in a corridor that leads to a dressing room, a bathroom (they are identical in size and content to those in the superior room) and a bedroom with a seating area (here they are already different: bigger seating area with a sofa, table and chairs).
Also in this room category there is a spacious balcony with excellent views of the hotel and the sea. The balcony has very comfortable sun loungers, a table and clothes dryer.
The air conditioner in this room is well located: there is no blowing on the bed, it works quietly and perfectly.
But this room is much hotter, probably because it is located upstairs and is under the sun all day. So here in the hot season it will not be as comfortable as in a superior room.
The most important thing is that it is so pleasant and cozy to be in the room that we don’t even wanted to go anywhere. The beautiful design and everything around adjusts for excellent rest and complete relaxation.
The room was cleaned daily, we even don’t know when, but at the highest level, without any complaints.
Every day we found in the room pleasant signs of attention from the hotel: either a plate of fruit, then cheese with delicious jam, or a huge plate of cakes and desserts.
Please read our impressions of the territory of the hotel, its beach and restaurants in the next part of my review.
