Some positive news from airlines. April 2020.

I continue to follow the news coming from the airlines of the world. And today I want to share some of them with you today.

I’ll start with the upbeat news from Ryanair’s chairman, Michael O’Leary.

In his opinion: “Many Europeans locked up in their homes will want to go on vacation in the summer, before the children go to school”. He expects a partial recovery of flights within Europe as early as July-August 2020 with the application of strict anti-virus measures. But at the same time, he opposes the initiative under discussion to block the middle places in the the aircraft, considering it ineffective.

Michael O’Leary says that Ryanair is ready to set the lowest possible price for tickets from 1 to 10 eur to achieve the goal – to return planes and crew to the sky as soon as possible.

Ryanair also plans to expand the fleet and add 135 new boards already at the end of 2020, at the beginning of 2021, in anticipation of a huge increase in demand in 2021.

EasyJet Airlines carries out a short-term promotion for the sale of extra baggage for 0.99 eur for all flights until March 2021 (the usual price is 10-15 eur for 1 piece of baggage).

Finally AirAsia airline announced the launch of domestic flights in Malaysia from April 29, and also plans to start some domestic flights (after obtaining permission from local authorities):
– from May 1 in Thailand
– from May 4 in India
– since May 7 in Indonesia.
For this, all aircraft of the airline were equipped with High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) system.

I hope that in May we will see more positive news about the revitalization and revival of flights in the world!
