Please read a new review from my beloved sister, who managed to go on a short but eventful vacation to the West of Ukraine in December 2020.
Fantasy beckoned to Italy, or to the mountain resorts of Poland, Slovakia or Austria. The soul was eager to go to Germany, but I want to go there all the time. And we all remember the words pandemic, quarantine and lockdown. Therefore, I had to adjust to reality. Hello, holiday at home, Ukraine. If summer vacation in Ukraine is definitely not for me, then winter vacation is quite good.
The main criterion for the selection of housing this winter was limited contact with strangers. So I gave up on hotels with deluxe breakfasts, lovely pools and lobbies.
My goal was to find a secluded cottage near Bukovel, in which we were in the spring and decided to return in the winter, in high season. I contact my favorite Booking. Thanks to the second tier, I have access to discounted and upgraded accommodation. Yuhuu.
And since we planned a tour of restaurants and interesting places in Lviv, then we decided to stop there too (I’ll talk about this separately later).
As a result, our trip route looked like this: from Kyiv to Lviv, then the Carpathians, then Lviv again and back home to Kyiv.
So, Lazeshchina, Transcarpathia, which is 15 km from the Bukovel resort, was waiting for us. The road from Lviv to Lazeshchyna and in the Carpathians themselves is excellent. If you have any questions on the way from Kyiv to Bukovel, ask, I will be happy to answer.
In Lazeshchina, not far from the highway, there is a complex “P’yate koleso”, which combines a small hotel and a duplex, which is called a cottage. This little deception cost us several sleepless nights.
On Booking it is indicated that this is a cottage, but in fact it is part of a house. Our accommodation has a separate porch with a table and chairs under the roof. There is a place for a car and the opportunity to use a barbecue and a gazebo near the fire.
For 400 UAH per hour there is an excellent sauna with everything you need.
As for housing, for 3 000 hryvnia a day we have at our disposal 90 meters or two floors.
Ground floor – entrance hall, room for boards and ski equipment. Fireplace room and kitchen, as well as a toilet, which is very convenient. Everything is fresh, very nice design, completely unlike most of the cottages in these places. All furniture is made to order – unusual and like a fairy tale. High quality plumbing. The house is warm and bright. In the kitchen, I was surprised only by the lack of drying shelf for dishes and a scruffy frying pan. The fireplace can be heated at least every day, the owners put firewood in the woodpile.
Second floor – a room with a toilet and a double bed, separately – another room from which you can enter a small room with a single bed and a small bathroom there. Since we are with a child, we got these two rooms. Our friend lived in the first room, and my child and I are 5 years old in these two. It is very convenient – the son, who is afraid to sleep alone, slept peacefully in his room, but with the door open when he had a beautiful attic window in his room. But the bathroom is sadness. The washbasin is so small that it is impossible to stick your face in it. I had to go downstairs to brush my teeth. At the same time, on the first floor, the bathroom was impressive – even if you could walk. This is another disadvantage.
Everything would be fine, if not for the main drawback – our cottage is part of the house. On the second day, the neighbors stopped by. Screaming and noise, alcoholic chants, quarrels and all this was going on non-stop. At two o’clock in the morning we called the owner, he went to the guests, but it did not help much. On the second night, everything was repeated, but without music. At the same time, the neighbors blocked our way to the entrance with their cars and the rest turned into an uncomfortable life.
For two days we endured inconvenience, so the experience of the rest deteriorated.
But there were also a couple of pleasant spots – the dog Alice, a husky, who was waiting for us on the bench every morning to stroke :), and the food 🙂
Although before entering, the owners wrote that the café on the territory was not working, but after a couple of days we learned that the cafe was working. Surprisingly delicious coffee, pancakes with cottage cheese – 5 pieces for 20 hryvnia and very tasty. Our friend had breakfast and dinner in a cafe – a huge amount of food for ridiculous money. Once we ordered a barbecue, 2 kilograms. It was just delicious! The most delicious barbecue in my life. It was handed to us straight to the house. There were also pickles and potatoes. The bill for the banquet simply killed us – 500 hryvnia for meat and 100 hryvnia for pickles and sauerkraut. We were delighted.
As a result, we really liked the housing in Transcarpathia, but did not like that this is not a separate cottage, which can cause discomfort to families with children who are focused on quiet holiday.
The hosts are very attentive and helpful, which is a plus.
